AI workflow for creatives

Building the image by zones: the box, the mask, the layer

Building the image by zones is the Axiris method: each zone is a box, with its mask, its description, its references and its instructions. You infer a box, you judge, you freeze what is good; what is validated becomes an exact layer, composited on top of everything inferred afterwards, and no longer moves. A client who has validated an element will never see it change again.

An image is built, not generated

This is how Axiris works, and it is what sets it apart: a composition is not a prompt you rerun, it is a set of zones you build one after the other.

background → character → product → object → graphic element → correction

Each zone is a box. Each box has its mask, the exact place where the engine is allowed to work, its description, its references, its instructions. You infer a box, you judge, you freeze what is good. What is frozen no longer moves while you work on the next one.

Why by zones

An engine asked for the whole image at once makes compromises everywhere: the character is fine but the product is wrong; you rerun, the product is fine but the background has changed. You never converge.

By zones, each element gets its own attention, and the image progresses the way a composite progresses: layer by layer, keeping what is validated.

The generative layer proposes, the exact layer is authoritative

In an Axiris workflow, what the engine returns is always a proposal. What you validate becomes an exact layer, frozen, intact. A frozen layer is composited on top of everything inferred afterwards: the engine can propose around it, it cannot modify it.

"The rest does not move" is verified at every pass, on the pixels. It is not a marketing promise, it is a measurement.

What it changes for a creative

  • a client who has validated an element will never see it change again;
  • brand guidelines hold from one image to the next, because they live in frozen layers;
  • a correction costs the time of the zone, not the time of the image;
  • the work becomes reversible again: you know what was done, where, and you can go back to it.

This is the Axiris thesis, published in July 2026: We no longer generate an image. We build it.

Going further

Retouching by zone is its basic gesture; Nova is what turns your intention into instructions for each box. The guide Bringing AI into a graphic designer's workflow shows the complete method.
